Vision & Values

The school’s mission is the ‘pursuit of excellence’ and its core values are ‘Learn, Think, Contribute, Care’.

Mission Statement

The Rainhill community values everyone equally, regardless of background or experience. Our aim is to ensure that students leave us as happy, self-assured and independent individuals with a clear sense of social responsibility and the skills and qualifications to take their next steps confidently. The culture of the school is compassionate and accepting of difference and one in which students can express their own ideas and flourish as individuals. We expect our students to be able to thrive in modern Britain as a result of their time with us. The school offers many opportunities for students’ moral, social, spiritual and cultural development within and beyond the formal curriculum. We aim to provide the best level of care, learning and individual development for each of our students.

The school’s mission is the ‘pursuit of excellence’ and its core values are ‘Learn, Think, Contribute, Care’.

The Headteacher and senior leaders have a strong vision for the future of the school that is inclusive and aspirational - OFSTED

Rainhill is a popular school. Our students come mainly from the Rainhill and Nutgrove parts of St Helens, but about 30% come from Knowsley, Widnes or Warrington homes. We are consistently oversubscribed. We are proud of our students' achievements in examinations, we are proud of the quality of relationships at the school and we are proud of the opportunities we give our pupils. However, we are not arrogant or complacent.

We want to be the best comprehensive in the North West, and to do this we listen, work hard, innovate and are self critical.
