The Coronavirus Outbreak has left a many feeling anxious and confused over the situation regarding summer examinations. We have sent the letter below out to Parents and Students and have included guidance from Ofqual on the matter.
7th April 2020
Dear Parent/Carer,
Late last week we received information from Ofqual regarding the generation of grades for public examinations in England. As mentioned in the Parent Newsletter on Friday, the school is already working hard to ensure that no child is disadvantaged in this process. As ever, in the current and fast moving circumstances there are some questions yet to be answered, including whether or not Ofqual will allow Y10 early entry of any subject or the arrangements for external BTEC modules. We are informed that there is to be further consultation on this.
I will therefore need to update you again on some of the fine detail of individual courses /qualifications in the coming days.
In the meantime, please find attached a copy of a letter from Ofqual and the guidance that has been sent out to schools.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs Josie Thorogood Headteacher
Dear Students
Ofqual released a blog this morning with some information to make the process a little easier to understand. Included in this blog is a short film aimed at students, giving them some information about what is going to be happening. This complements the information that they have already released, communicated to you last week. Ofqual’s short film for students can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXuDOrtJY1Q&feature=youtu.be.
We will continue to keep you updated as and when any further information is released.
Have a good Easter break
