CULTURE DAY This week Year 7, 8 and 9 students were involved in our first Culture Day. As part of our philosophy to celebrate diversity, equality and inclusion, students had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities from different cultures including:
CAPORIEA www.capoeriaforall.org Capoeira is a Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, dance, acrobatics, music and spirituality.
MOVEMA www.movema.co.uk Dance and movement workshops led by two professional Liverpool Artists - Ithalia and Kinga. Ithalia will share dance and music from African and Caribbean culture while Kinga will teach dance styles from India. Expect a high energy, fun and vibrant workshop.
HENNA DESIGNS Henna explained within different culture. Opportunity to create their own hand design.
SAREE DRESS Exploring traditional saree dress and how to create different designs.
CULTURAL ARCHITECTURE Exploring architecture from different cultures around the world.
Feedback from all the students involved was very positive and we hope to build on the success of our first culture day by making it an annual event. We would like to thank all our visitors who contributed to this fantastic day- we couldn't have done it without you!
