Pupils who opt for option block PE will undertake a period of baseline assessments to ensure they go down the right route for them and their strengths. After this, it will be a GCSE pathway or the OCR Cambridge National. Both courses have a practical element with pupils having to showcase their practical ability in both a team and an individual sport as well as coursework elements and exam content covering Sport and the Media, the Body in Action, Physical Training and many more.
Those pupils that don’t opt for option block PE will still have core PE and game. This is one hour of practical PE a week where the focus is on game play and mental well being.

Behind the Mask: Tyson Fury | A Manchester lad from Irish Traveller stock, born three months premature and weighing just a pound at birth, Tyson (named after his father's boxing hero) grew up to become one of the most unlikely heavyweight champions in history. This 'dream come true' soon turned to nightmare, however, as alcohol and cocaine abuse took hold and Tyson was stripped of his titles. What followed was the darkest moment of his life - detailed in this book for the first time - in which he came within seconds of ending everything
Rob Burrow: Too many reasons to live | Rob Burrow is one of the greatest rugby league players of all time. And the most inspirational. As a boy, Rob was told he was too small to play the sport. Even when he made his debut for Leeds Rhinos, people wrote him off as a novelty. But Rob never stopped proving people wrong. During his time at Leeds, for whom he played almost 500 games, he won eight Super League Grand Finals, two Challenge Cups and three World Club Challenges. He also played for his country in two World Cups. In December 2019, Rob was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, a rare degenerative condition, and given a couple of years to live. He was only 37, not long retired and had three young children. When he went public with the devastating news, the outpouring of affection and support was extraordinary. When it became clear that Rob was going to fight it all the way, sympathy turned to awe
