"We share the belief that in order to develop confident, resilient, independent learners, we must immerse them in an engaging, well-sequenced, knowledge-rich curriculum."
“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
Learning throughout KS3, 4 and 5 is intelligently sequenced to build knowledge and skills over time, enabling all pupils to access ideas of increasing complexity and application. Topics are split across year-groups and re-visited, each time in increasing depth to support retention of knowledge and development of more complex skills.
Pupils are encouraged to seriously consider their impact on the wider world, and the way in which technology, medicine, engineering and other scientific disciplines have a profound impact on the local and global context we live in. The curriculum makes explicit links between sciences, and with other subjects; constantly encouraging pupils to grow their knowledge and investigate it both inside and outside of the classroom.
We also have a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and trips, in which pupils enjoy science outside of the traditional classroom.
