Rainhill High School Makes England Football History!

Tuesday 6th October 2026 marked a truly historic and unforgettable moment for Rainhill High School, as two former pupils were named in the same England starting line-up for the very first time!

In an extraordinary achievement for the school and its proud sporting heritage, former Rainhill High School students Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jarell Quansah were both selected to start for England in their international fixture against the Czech Republic.

This remarkable milestone represents an incredible moment in the school’s history, highlighting the outstanding achievements of two talented footballers who once walked the same corridors, attended the same classrooms and began their journeys towards the highest level of international football.

Both players have worked tirelessly to establish themselves at the very top of the professional game, demonstrating the dedication, determination and commitment required to represent their country on the international stage.

For Rainhill High School, seeing not just one, but two former pupils representing England together is an immense source of pride and inspiration for the entire school community.
