PASTORAL CARE
Knowing and Supporting Every Pupil
At Rainhill, strong relationships are at the heart of pastoral care. We want every pupil to feel known, supported and valued, with adults they can turn to when they need help.
Our pastoral structure provides support throughout a pupil's journey at Rainhill, working closely with families, teachers and specialist colleagues where needed.
Who Supports My Child?
Form Tutor
Every pupil has a Form Tutor, providing a consistent point of contact and helping pupils feel connected to their form and wider school community.
Each year group is also supported by a dedicated pastoral team:
Year Student Managers
Providing day-to-day pastoral support and an important point of contact for pupils and families.
Year Progress Leaders
Maintaining high expectations and overseeing the progress, behaviour and wider experience of pupils within their year group.
Senior Progress Leaders
Supporting progress and achievement across year groups.
Senior Leaders
Providing strategic leadership and additional support where required.
Together, these relationships help us understand pupils as individuals and identify when something may be getting in the way of their learning, attendance, wellbeing or participation in school life.
Support That Responds to Need
Most pupils thrive through the relationships, routines and support available to everyone at Rainhill. At times, a pupil may need something more.
Our pastoral teams work with pupils and families to understand concerns and coordinate appropriate support.
Where specialist help is required, they can connect families with colleagues responsible for attendance, SEND, safeguarding, emotional health and wellbeing, inclusion or other specialist provision.
Pupils should know who is there for them, where to go for help and that they belong at Rainhill.
