Operation Encompass

Supporting Children Affected by Domestic Abuse
Rainhill High School is part of Operation Encompass, a national scheme that operates jointly between schools and police forces.
Operation Encompass enables schools to be informed, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has experienced domestic abuse or has been reported missing.
At Rainhill, a member of staff — our Designated Safeguarding Lead — is trained as an Operation Encompass Key Adult. This enables us to use information shared in confidence to provide appropriate support for children in our care.
The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 recognises children who experience domestic abuse as victims of domestic abuse in their own right.
We want to provide the best possible support for pupils affected by these experiences and ensure that appropriate help is available when they arrive at school.
Not Sure Where to Start?

You do not need to identify the service your child needs — we will help you find the right support.
