WELCOME TO RAINHILL SIXTH
In Pursuit of Excellence
Small classes. Expert teaching. Personalised support. Ambitious destinations.
At Rainhill Sixth, students benefit from the opportunities and expertise of an established 11–18 school combined with the small classes, individual attention and strong relationships of a smaller Sixth Form.
We know our students well: their strengths, their ambitions and where they may need additional support. This allows us to provide a Sixth Form experience that is challenging, highly personalised and focused on helping every student achieve their next step.
Whether you are continuing your Rainhill journey or joining us from another school, RH6 offers something distinctive: greater independence and academic challenge without losing the individual support that helps students succeed.
In Pursuit of Excellence
Underpinned by our values of Learn, Think, Contribute and Care.
A Sixth Form Where Students Are Known
Small Classes. Individual Attention.
Our smaller classes allow teachers to know students as learners, understand their strengths and identify quickly when they need additional challenge or support.
Students benefit from close relationships with subject teachers and tutors, regular academic guidance and a learning environment in which they are known as individuals.
Expert Teaching
Students are taught by experienced subject specialists who understand the demands of Level 3 study.
Teaching provides the expertise, challenge and feedback students need while progressively developing the independence, scholarship and study habits required for success beyond school.
Personalised Support
Being a smaller Sixth Form means support can be genuinely personal.
We monitor students' academic progress, attendance, wellbeing and future plans, providing guidance and intervention when it is needed.
Where students experience SEND, disadvantage, health or wellbeing needs, caring responsibilities or other barriers, our approach is to remove barriers, not reduce ambition.
Ambitious Destinations
Successful progression is a strength of RH6.
Our students progress to an impressive range of destinations, including highly competitive universities, Russell Group institutions, specialist higher education, degree and high level apprenticeships and employment.
Every student's journey is different. Our highly personalised careers programme helps students understand their options, build their experience and make ambitious, well-informed decisions about what comes next.

Learn, Think, Contribute and Care remain at the heart of RH6. What changes is how these values are demonstrated as students become increasingly independent young adults.
Scholarship & Independence
Students develop deeper subject knowledge, read and research beyond lessons, use independent study effectively and take increasing responsibility for their progress.
Intellectual Curiosity & Ambition
Students are encouraged to question, analyse and think critically and independently, engaging with increasingly challenging ideas and extending their learning beyond examination specifications.
Leadership & Responsibility
Students have opportunities to lead, mentor, volunteer and contribute to RH6, the wider school and their communities. As senior students, they increasingly become role models for others.
Character & Community
Students develop greater responsibility for themselves and others, alongside the judgement, relationships, confidence and understanding required for adult life.
A Step Up in Study
Greater Challenge. Greater Independence.
Courses become more demanding, subject knowledge deepens and students are expected to take significantly greater responsibility for their learning.
Our small classes and expert teaching provide high levels of support, but our aim is always to develop increasingly confident and independent learners who are ready for higher education, apprenticeships and employment.

Part of Rainhill. Distinctly RH6.
RH6 has its own identity and community while remaining an integral part of Rainhill High School.
Students enjoy greater independence and responsibility, while retaining access to the expertise, facilities, opportunities and support of a successful 11–18 school.
For students joining us from other schools, RH6 offers a welcoming community where they can quickly become known and involved. For students continuing from Rainhill, it provides familiarity alongside a genuine step towards greater independence.
More Than Excellent Qualifications
By the time students leave RH6, we want them to have achieved more than excellent qualifications.
We want them to leave as knowledgeable and independent learners, confident young adults and responsible members of their communities, equipped with the character, professional habits, experiences and ambition to succeed.
Learn. Think. Contribute. Care.
Ambitious study. Personalised support. Confident progression.
