Individually, these very talented youngsters managed to win 35 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 16 bronze medals, which was more than any other school in attendance.

On top of a phenomenal team performance, there were some exceptional, record-breaking, individual performances too! Owen Dagnall ran an astonishing time of 52.35 seconds in the Senior Boys 400m, breaking a 25-x year old record by more than a second! Millie O’Hanlon jumped an incredible 1.70m in the Senior Girls High Jump, adding 15cm to the previous record, which was set in 2015.

Rainhill High Headteacher, Mrs Thorogood, and Head of PE, Mr Rachi, said of the remarkable achievement, “we are unbelievably proud of the pupils who competed at Town Sports, not only for the results on the day but for the manner in which they represented the school; in all aspects they honoured our school vision ‘in pursuit of excellence’. A huge well done and sincere congratulations to all of the students and the PE team staff who supported them in attaining their achievements. We look forward to defending our titles next year!
