FROM RAINHILL HIGH TO TWICKENHAM AND ENGLAND COUNTIES

EX Rainhill student Harry Coxhill Continues METEORIC RUGBY UNION RISE.

Former Rainhill High School student Harry Coxhill’s remarkable rise through the Rugby Football Union (RFU) representative pathway gathered further momentum after the West Park RUFC prop scored for the England Counties U20 Divisional XV against the UK Armed Forces at Castle Park, Doncaster.

Coxhill crossed the whitewash during the prestigious Military vs Cancer Armed Forces Rugby Day fixture, capping an outstanding 12 months that have seen him establish himself as one of the North West’s most promising young forwards.

The latest milestone comes exactly a year after another career-defining moment. On 21 June 2025, Coxhill celebrated his 19th birthday in unforgettable style by starting at prop and scoring a crucial try for Lancashire U20 as they defeated Devon to lift the Jason Leonard U20 National County Championship title at Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium.

That success proved to be the springboard for further representative honours. Following a series of commanding performances, Coxhill was appointed co-captain of the North of England U20 Divisional Squad last month, with his leadership and consistent displays earning him selection for the England Counties U20 Divisional XV.

Now representing England Counties, the former Rainhill High School pupil has continued his habit of delivering on the biggest occasions, adding another try to an increasingly impressive representative record.

Although England Counties fixtures do not carry full senior international status, they form a key part of the RFU’s player development pathway, bringing together the country’s leading emerging talent. Coxhill’s back-to-back try-scoring performances on two of representative rugby’s biggest stages – Twickenham and now with England Counties – underline his growing reputation and suggest there is plenty more to come from the West Park RUFC front-rower.
