All teams performed exceptionally well, with our Year 8 and 9 teams dominating their matches and securing impressive victories. Congratulations to all pupils on their outstanding efforts.

On Tuesday, 4th March, some of our Year 7 and 8 pupils participated in St Helens’ inaugural secondary school dodgeball tournament. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all, with our Year 7 team securing third place overall, narrowly missing out on a medal. We look forward to participating in more tournaments in the future—well done to everyone involved.

Year 7 Rugby

Our Year 7 rugby team has progressed to the semi-final of the Town Cup following a fantastic performance against De La Salle on Thursday.

The match began with an excellent start as Jack A ran 50 yards to score our first try. The team continued to play outstanding rugby, further extending the lead through Mark F and Theo B. At halftime, we held a 12-4 advantage.

De La Salle responded with two quick tries to level the score, but our team displayed remarkable resilience, scoring four more tries to secure victory. Luke S led the charge with an immediate reply that put us back in control.

A dominant performance saw us triumph with a 36-12 win. Well done, boys!

Year 9 & 10 Football

On Wednesday, 5th March, our Year 9/10 girls’ football team faced Deyes High School in the Quarter-Final of the Merseyside Cup. The match was highly competitive, with both teams showcasing excellent football.

We took the lead thanks to a composed finish from Gannon, but Deyes soon equalised. The second half saw us dominate possession and create several opportunities, and with just minutes remaining, Ainsworth secured the decisive winning goal, ensuring our place in the semi-final.

We now eagerly await the winners of Calderstones or Archbishop Blanch. Well done, girls!
